Students v Staff Football Match

Thank you to everyone who participated in the charity football match on Tuesday Night.

After an action packed game the staff won, with a final score of 8-5 (despite the obvious handicap of having Miss Gallagher in goals for part of the game – with added super-huge foam hands!).

Thanks also to Mr. Bandoo and Nathan (S4) for organising everything and to Mr. Cunningham for refereeing.

Celebrating Success

Staff, pupils and parents gathered recently at the 2016 Prizegiving Ceremony to celebrate another successful year  at The James Young High School.

To open the ceremony, the audience were treated to a musical number from piper Chloe Easton and drummer Blair Faulds who led the award winners to their seats in the main hall which was decorated in the school colours.

Rugby Awards

Well done to the following JYHS pupils who were recently recognised for their Sporting Achievements at The Livingston Rugby Club Awards

Daniel Robinson, S5, was awarded the prestigious Jock Harkness trophy;
Jamie Lumsden, S5, was awarded the Steel Shield for Spirit of Rugby. Jamie also played U16 for Scotland earlier this year and will start training with the U18s later this summer;
Emma Lumsden, S3, was awarded the trophy for Most Improved Player for the U15 Girls.
