Schuh Competition

Congratulations to our Schuh Competitors this year, as usual all of our entries were of a high standard.
Well done to Rachel, Nicola, Sophia and Natalia who were our school prize winners on the night.  At the awards ceremony the CEO of Schuh rightly recognised the efforts of our very own Stella Smith who has contributed to the Schuh competition for the last 21 years.

CEM Testing

As part of our school’s continuing policy to raise standards and pupil performance it is proposed that SOSCA CEM (Centre for Evaluating and Monitoring) tests be administered to all S2 after the Easter break. This is a West Lothian wide practice and all S2 pupils in West Lothian will undertake these assessments around a similar time.

Well Done – Burnhouse Awards Ceremony

Arrangements for Easter School 2017

Arrangements for Easter School 2017

  • The main doors of the school will be open from 08:45 to 09:30 and again from 12:30 to 13:30.
  • Pupils should not to go outside the building except at lunchtime as they will get locked out.
  • Pupils will be able to leave the building via the back gate at lunchtime but they will have to use the main entrance to come back into the building.

U15 Football Team

Friday marked the last game of the season for our U15 football team. They played out an exciting 2-2 draw with St Margaret’s Academy, Ben and Nathan with the goals for JYHS.

This year was another great season for the team as they managed to win the league for the third year in a row. This is a fantastic achievement especially as the quality of opposition in this region is of a really high standard.

Finals of the Scottish Concert Band Festival

The finals of the Scottish Concert Band Festival took place in Perth Concert Hall last weekend (18/19 March) and James Young High School was well represented across a range of performing bands.
