Parents’ Evening for Senior pupils takes place on Thursday 6th December and Wednesday 12th December from 5pm – 7.30pm. Please note we are now utilising an electronic appointment system as follows.

Scotland International – Naomi Welch

On 9th October  Naomi Welch (S6) won her 15th International ‘cap’ for Scotland, all of which she has obtained during her time at The James Young High School. Indeed she has now represented Scotland through all the levels – U15, U16, U17 and most recently the U19s.

Band Camp

On Friday 5th October, 61 musicians from S1 – S6 went on our annual Music Camp to the Broomlee Centre in West Linton. The Senior Wind Band and Junior Wind Band spent most of our time
rehearsing, and leisure time was spent doing a huge variety of things – balloon games (very competitive), Rock and Roll Bingo and Outdoor Activities to name but a few and Saturday night after rehearsals was a terrific night for stargazing.

JYHS P7 Information Evening

You are invited to attend an Open Evening incorporating P7 Information Evening

There will be an address to current Primary 7 parents at 6.30 pm

Visit every department and see the school in action with science experiments, practical work in Home Economics, Art & CDT, Computing PE demonstrations, and many more activities and displays.

Norwegian Exchange Visit

Last week’s pupil exchange trip to Norway was very successful and good fun. Heather, Mark, Nicola, Paloma and Tom (together with some students from Armadale and Broxburn) all enjoyed spending time with their host families, going to lessons in school and going on trips to see some fjords.
