Open Evening (2 November 2017)

You are invited to attend an Open Evening (incorporating P7 Information Evening) on Thursday 2nd November 2017 from 6.30 pm till 8.15 pm.

There will be an address to current Primary 7 parents at 6.30 pm

The event will include an opportunity to visit every department and see the school in action with science experiments, practical work in Home Economics, Art & CDT, Computing, PE demonstrations, and many more activities and displays.

West Lothian Schools Swimming Competition

It was a wonderful team effort from the JYHS swimming team at the West Lothian Schools Swimming Time Trials on Sunday 5th November. JYHS collected the trophy for top secondary school. It was medals galore with the school winning 7 – bronze, 10 – silver and 10 – Gold!    Many of our medal winners also qualified to go forward to the Schools Finals next year. Well ...

S5 Pupils – Social Mobility Foundation

The Social Mobility Foundation run a programme called the Aspiring Professionals Programme (APP) which provides high achieving young people who meet the eligibility criteria and aspire to go to university  with work experience (in Glasgow or London), mentoring, skills sessions and university application advice, and they work with those young people from S5 through university to employment.

Christmas Craft Fair

The annual JYHS Christmas Craft Fair will take place on Saturday 25th November from 10am until 1pm. This event is run by the JYHS Parent Council as a fundraising activity for the school.
This is an excellent opportunity to start your Christmas shopping. There will be stalls selling Christmas cards, decorations, jewellery, ornaments, hand-knitted goods, toys and lots more. Jason and the Argonauts

The theatre company Visible Fictions staged a production of Jason and the Argonauts in school on Wednesday 1 November.  The production was very much enjoyed by our S1 pupils who were joined by P7 pupils from Dedridge primary  for the event.
