The JYHS Eco Group is an initiative that encourages pupils to engage with environmental and stainable development issues.

The programme is a learning resource and topic areas include: litter, waste management, transport, healthy living, energy, water, school grounds and global citizenship.

We aim to maintain our school’s ‘Green Flag’ status by continuing the process of environmental awareness.

Events / Activities

Pupils take key roles in decision making and participation in order to reduce the environmental impact of their school. In this way, the Eco Group extends learning beyond the classroom and develops responsible citizenship attitudes both at home and in the wider community.

During the year we will increase awareness of issues by designing and carrying out campaigns within the school. The students will lead assemblies and drive the process forward using various other media resources.
