The Fundraising Team of the Parent Council runs events throughout the year to raise money for the school.

The following are current members of our fundraising team: Gillian Adens, Suzanne Clarke, Sue Hunter, Irene Lumsden, Alex McDonald, Vicky Walker and Audrey Wright.

We also have a list of parent volunteers to call upon to help out at events. Please get in touch if you would like to join the fundraising team or be added to our list of volunteers.

As well as providing refreshments at Parents Evenings and School Open Evenings we often organise larger events such as Craft Fairs and Indoor Car Boot Sales at the school.

Recently the Parent Council have provided funds to the school for resources for the autistic unit, tables for the dining hall, assistance with the school garden and iPads. The Parent Council also funded the development of the new JYHS website.

Easy Fundraising

The JYHS Fundraising team has found a great way to raise money for free, simply by shopping on-line through a website called easyfundraising

Whenever you buy anything on-line (e.g. presents, groceries, clothes, books, train tickets, hotel rooms etc.) you can raise a free donation for JYHS Parent Council. There are over 2,700 retailers registered with the site, including Amazon, John Lewis, eBay and Tesco who will donate a percentage of what you spend to the JYHS Parent Council to say thank you for shopping with them.

Here’s how it works:

  1. Sign up – go to the easyfundraising page for JYHS and click on the button to sign up.
  2. Shop – from the easyfundraising website, search for the retailer you’d like to shop with and click through to the retailer to make your purchase. The price is exactly the same as if you’d visited the retailer directly.
  3. Get a donation – after you have made your purchase, the retailer will give you a cash reward which is donated to JYHS Parent Council.
